The Japanese translation of the Iranian book ‘Dastan-e Rastan’ penned by prominent Shia scholar Morteza Motahhari is to be published in Japan.

The Japanese translation and publication of the book is a contribution of the PAO Compound, a Tokyo-based nomadic culture center in line with expanding cultural cooperation between Iran and Japan.

An agreement to publish the book was signed on Wednesday by Iran’s Cultural Attaché in Tokyo Hossein Divsalar and head of Japan’s PAO Compound, Takuji Yasunaka.

Since three years ago, some 15 books and magazines have been translated into Japanese for those interested in the Iranian culture.

‘Dastan-e Rastan’ is a book in two volumes, each containing 75 short stories and anecdotes about the lives of Islamic figures.

The stories of the book are based on Ahl al-Bayt (PBUH), hadith (ethical stories) written in simple and comprehensible language.

In 1965, the book received an award from UNESCO.
